July 1, 2007 - Canada Day

Wow, it's been more than 6 months in the Great Land O' Lakes! I went to a Montreal-Ottawa trip for the Canada Day long weekend - it was one helluva weekend. With friends and family, it was even better - and the French babes in Montreal certainly helped. The poutine was amazing, and the weather could not be better.

P.S. If you know of a good graphic designer, let me know.

O' Canada

It has been almost 3 weeks in Canada now. I live near Yonge & Sheppard so it's pretty good. Canadians are very patient (in general), and much respectful than Americans. However, they are slow pokes - extremely slow (almost lethargic) in getting things done. Most Canadians are well, immigrants. My impression of Canadians were Europeans saying "Eh?" at every instant. While the latter is true, most Canadians hail from the "brown" states such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the likes of "yellow" states such as China, Malaysia and Korea.

Independence Day Melas!

Wow - so this year was the same. Pakistani-Americans celebrated 2, yes 2, melas this year. One was organized by PAGH (Pakistani-American Association of Greater Houston) and the other one by Saeed Gaddi, Sajjad Burki and the likes.

Houston Radio Wars

O' the apathy, the disgust and the disgrace that comes down upon us desis (especially Pakistani-Americans) when I hear hosts of Sangeet Radio and Young Trang bickering, biting and after each other's lives. Have you heard Sangeet or Young Trang (DC Radio) these days? It is almost sickening as to how the Pakistanis living in Houston are fighting over their petty little differences. These men have absolutely no shame, no grace and no backbone. Why not settle your differences by sitting together or by using the law? These people give a bad name to the Pakistani-American community!
